(TORONTO, ON) May 25, 2020 – With summer looming and Toronto’s festivals at a halt due to COVID-19, The Canadian Salsa Festivals Project (CSFP) invites Canadians to `Keep Dancing` with today`s announcement that the salsa party will go on! Canada’s largest celebration of Latin culture – the TD Salsa in Toronto Festival – will take place virtually on July 18th & 19th delivering a TV and Digital Festival Experience for Canadians across the country.
Longstanding co-founding festival partner TLN Television has once again signed on to work with the CFSP, making the first virtual TD Salsa in Toronto Festival accessible to Canadians across the country on TV and digital platforms.
The virtual celebration of Latin culture will be broadcast nationally on TLN Media Group`s TLN TV channel as a televised event taking TD Salsa in Toronto into the homes of salsa lovers. The festival will also be streamed worldwide at tln.ca and across the festival`s social channels.
This year’s unique festival format proudly continues to support local artists during these unprecedented times, a mandate that has been important to TD Salsa in Toronto throughout its history. The vibrant lineup celebrates Latino culture through musical performances, salsa class instructions, authentic food recipe demonstrations, Latin art exhibits, colourful cultural parade features, special guest segments throughout the broadcast and of course non-stop dancing!
Naki Osutei, Associate Vice President, Social Impact (Canada), Global Corporate Citizenship, TD Bank Group – “Through the TD Ready Commitment, we are proud to return as Title Sponsor of the TD Salsa in Toronto Festival, especially now. This event is a staple of summers in Toronto and provides an important way of sharing Latin arts and culture with all of us. I am thrilled that, despite these challenging times, we can still showcase and celebrate the fabric of our great city.”
Aldo Di Felice, President, TLN Media Group – “This annual festival is one of our proudest achievements. We are committed to keeping it going and keeping it growing. Whether on TV, online or in person, the show must go on!”
Additional festival details will be released in June. Stay connected through the festival`s social accounts and go to salsaintoronto.com for the latest updates including the virtual event lineup, artist announcements and special programming.
