(TORONTO, ON) June 10, 2021 – Canada’s largest celebration of Latinx culture is kicking off the festivities for its 17th annual festival and second virtual TV event! The Canadian Salsa Festivals Project (CSFP) and TLN TV have once again joined forces with TD Bank Group to present the virtual TD Salsa in Toronto Festival, bringing the best of Latin dance, music, arts and culture to millions of homes across Canada and beyond. The month-long fiesta counts down to the ultimate virtual salsa party airing nationally on TLN TV and streamed worldwide on tln.ca on Saturday, July 10th at 4P/et and Sunday, July 11th at 1P/et.

Amidst the cancellation of most of Toronto’s summer festivals due to COVID-19 safety restrictions, the TD Salsa in Toronto Festival is bigger than ever! The virtual festival broadcast will be hosted by TLN TV personality Camila Gonzalez and long-time festival co-host Ivan Wanis-Ruiz.

The vibrant lineup will feature musical performances with internationally acclaimed and local Canadian artists with appearances from three-time Latin Grammy winner Pedro Capo and iHeartRadio Music Award winner Manuel Turizo. This year’s lineup of performances is also incredibly proud to welcome Juno Award winner OKAN, who recently took home the 2021 Award for World Music Album of the year at the awards last Sunday.

TD Salsa in Toronto is also proud to feature the work of Clandestinos, a Latinx visual artist duo featuring Bruno Smoky, originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Shalak Attack of Chilean decent. Clandestinos are no strangers to the global art-scene with their art murals displayed in countries all over the world including Canada, Brazil, Chile, and Belgium, sharing their beautiful illustrations depicting landscapes and portraiture in both real and their own imaginary dimensions.

The festivities kick off this month with the new Mas Salsa Live Lessons series on Facebook Live, featuring FREE weekly dance classes for Salseros from coast to coast with special guests Ritmo Caliente, Zumba Pa’Ca and Grupo Yambeque. Plus enjoy a special “Day Of The Dead” face painting event with the Mexican Cultural Center. The Facebook Live events will take place every Wednesday at 7P e/t.
